Lay Council
The mission of the Connectional Lay Council of the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church is to prepare and equip laity for life discileship in the kingdom of God by maintaining effective ministry that evangelize, encourage and edify laity.
The objectives and purpose of this organization shall be to organize the laity of the A.M.E. Zion Church in each Annual and District Conference and local church in the connection to the end that the following objectives may be achieved:
a. Deepen the spiritual life of the laity.
b. Disseminate information
c. Cultivate the denominational loyalty.
d. Expand the denomination through education and evangelism.
e. Promote any other interests of the kingdom of God.
All lay persons who are members of the A.M.E.Zion Church and who are in good standing in the church are eligible to become members.
